Description
This is a lacquered music box made in Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture which is known for producing Aizu lacquerware. Aizu lacquerware has a history of more than 400 years and was designated as Traditional Crafts of Japan in 1975.
When the box is opened, it plays a Japanese folk song “Sakura sakura” which depicts the season of cherry blossoms. It is a wind-up music box and does not need any battery. The inside is lined with suede so you can put items without worrying about scratches. It is very suitable for keeping jewelries as it has a mirror.
Please avoid keeping the product in direct sunlight, excessive dryness or humidity. It may cause damage. For cleaning, please use a soft cloth to remove dust and fingerprints as the surface is very delicate.
Please note that the product may differ slightly from the images shown.
There may be some fallout of colored powder due to the hand-painting.
