This ornamental sword is manufactured in Gifu Prefecture which has historically known workplace of Japanese sword. The blade of these kinds of decorative swords are machine-made and it would make you enjoy with more reasonable prices than Iai practice swords.
This is the model of one of the famous Samurai, Okita Soji (19th centurry). Okita was a master of swrodman and worked as a member of Shinsen-gumi (police organization in Kyoto). The sheath of this sword has a decorative ring which is called "Seme-Kanamono" which is ancient sword style to avoid bearking sheath. However, it becomes only for decoration as times goes by. This "Seme-Kanamono" is not fixed so tightly, and it moves a little, but it is a specification and does not cause any problem.
