Hichisai-haku:Chemical Brass Leaf (Material pasted on Washi paper)
On the rich background of irises, brass leaves known as Hichisai-haku are applied. It has been chemically oxidized to create a beautiful multi-colored patina.

Iris (Kakitsubata) :Kinsai Kakou (Kinsai Processing)
This Iris-designed screen features Kinsai Processing, a technique applied to TOMESODE*, a formal Japanese kimono. The patterned sheet is prepared using a special adhesive.
Gold (alloy) leaf and gold powder are pressed or sprinkled onto the leaves, while TAKASAGO foil—a type of foil commonly used in traditional Japanese crafts such as lacquerware and decorative arts—is applied to the flowers.
