【Naruto’s Whirlpool is a famous spot!】

One of the notable attractions in Awa is the "Naruto no Kazenami," referring to the turbulent tidal currents in the Naruto Strait.

※Awa derives its name from the ancient province name "Awa" and the domestic "Awa District" in Tokushima Prefecture.

The Naruto Strait, between Shikoku and Awaji Island, is famous for its strong tides and swift currents. These currents create swirling patterns and agitated waves, resembling wind-blown waves, hence the name "Naruto no Kazenami" (Naruto's Wind-ripples). This captivating sight has inspired literature and art, making it a renowned natural beauty of Japan.
