Asano Takeji was born in Kyoto.
He learned painting under Tsuchida Bakusen. His course was major was Japanese paintings but he also studied Western paintings.
He worked on the "Meisho-e Print Series“, which focuses on famous places and events in various parts of Japan.
Also, he created creative prints based on free expression.
He started making woodblock print from UNSODO in 1945, his works of depicting Japanese views have been re-evaluated in recent years.
