"Early Summer in Sanzen Temple" is a woodblock print designed by Takeji Asano.
Sanzen Temple is in Kyoto. The greens make a refreshing atmosphere.
Takeji Asano stuck to do all process for making a print alone, he had a unique way for his artworks in Sosaku Hanga style.
Takeji Asano worked in Shin Hanga and Sosaku Hanga style.
His many works ware published by UNSODO publisher from 1945 and now on.

Asano Takeji
1900-1998
Asano Takeji was born in Kyoto.
He learned painting under Tsuchida Bakusen. His course was major was Japanese paintings but he also studied Western paintings.
He worked on the "Meisho-e Print Series“, which focuses on famous places and events in various parts of Japan.
Also, he created creative prints based on free expression.
He started making woodblock print from UNSODO in 1945, his works of depicting Japanese views have been re-evaluated in recent years.
