It is made by the wood turning technique one by one.
The coating is finished by the technique called “Suri-Urushi”, which repeats many times by applying the lacquer and wiping off it with a cloth. Or it is called "Fuki-Urushi". It brings out the beauty of wood grain as well as gives strength to the product.

Isuke Shoten Co., Ltd., that was originally a lacquer dealer in Kyoto, pursued a finish which can be felt the beauty and the texture of the wood containers and produced this “MOKU” series by collaborating with Miyake design. MOKU means of wood in Japanese.
