1,Difference between Kimono and Yukata on the KHC online store
If we say "Kimono" in Japan, Kimono is the all Japanese traditional wear inclusive of Hakama, Happi, Samue, Yukata, and Kimono like a formal kimono or casual kimono.
In short, Kimono means all Japanese traditional clothing which have a collar that we put its right side under the left side like following image.
Our Kimono and Yukata also have the collar like above image, we can call both of them as "Kimono" in the broad sense.
However, when we generally talk about that, as we would like to make difference definitely between Kimono and Yukata, because Yukata is traditionally worn for bathing or for bedtime, and it was not out door clothing.
On the other hand, Kimono has been thought as a clothing for out door, wheather it is formal wear or not.
Our collection of Kimono and Yukata are especially for non Japanese people who would like to try on more simply than Japanese authentic Kimonos which are so complicated to wear on.
Here is the difference between Kimono and Yukata on our collection, KHC online store.

- Kimono
As we have already mentioned, the Kimono on our collection is not an authentic japanese Kimono.
The authentic Japanese kimono is as follows.
We wear Nagajuban, full length undergarment worn under kimono and tie with a string, and wear "Kimono" on it. Next, we tie with a several string to fix and make a tack which we call "ohashiyori" in Japanese, furthermore, we put the soft plate before put the obi (sash ) not to get wrinkled. Finally we put the grand obi like a following photo on it . The way to tie obi is so complicated and so heavy.
This is why, the light and simplified kimono like our collection as follows was born around 30years ago especially for visitors in Japan who love the kimono culture .
These simplified Kimono on our collection is easy to wear, easy to tie a sash so it has been loved for along time as a room wear, like a robe. (We are selling this kind of kimono inclusive of simple sash os same texture.)
As it is SIMPLIFIED style Kimono, we do not recommend you to uses as a outdoor clothing simply wear it on your bare skin.
If you desire to wear and out, it would be better to use this kind of kimono like a jacket wearing on your sweater and slender jeans. It can be your own new fashion and will give the impression ''unique''.
However, please note that we Japanese people restricted by long tradition custom do not wear it like a jacket.
We hooe that you might produce new Japanese style fashion through Kimono of our collection.
-Yukata
Yukata like our collection has existed since a long time in Japan.
It is a thin conmfortable light cotton kimono and used for bathing and nightwear.
So, if you stay at a Japanese traditional inn , Ryokan, you will have chance to wear this kind of yukata.
It is simple and easy to wear, not complicated like authentic Japanese kimono to tie a sash.
