Hiroshige is an ukiyo-e artist in the late Edo period.
His most important work is the "Tokaido Gojusantsugi (Fifty-three Stages on the Tokaido)" or the "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo".
This is one of "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo". The background is blurred by the the rain and the figures of people who are in a hurry
due to the intense evening rain are beautifully depicted.
Van Gogh a well-known Dutch painter, also copied this with "The Plum Orchard at Kameido".
