Description

It was said that Kokeshi dolls spread as a souvenir in the hot springs of the Tohoku region in the latter half of the Edo period.
Gunma Prefecture is the largest production of "The modern Kokeshi" in Japan. 

"Yorokobi (Pleasure)" is a kokeshi doll that wears a bright red kimono and has a simple and lovely look.
Kokeshi dolls are vulnerable to light and humidity. Please avoid places exposed to sunlight or high humidity.
There are individual differences because each is handmade.

Kokeshi doll

The doll is exactly as it appears on the centre's web site, perfect. Beautiful workmanship. It will definitely bring me pleasure (and joy).

I would like to add that the service from Kyoto Handicraft Center was absolutely amazing. Ordered on Friday and my parcel arrived at my home in New Zealand on the Monday, incredible. Thank you.
