【What is Gold brocade?】

Gold brocade is one of the traditional Japanese fabric which is made by weaving gold threads to create brilliant patterns.
The textile became to be woven often since the middle of the 15th century, especially in Nishijin area of Kyoto.
Its gorgeous technique and colors are considered as the superior of woven fabric and it has been used for representing the dignity of Shinto or Buddhist ritual, and royal aristocrats.

Japan is blessed with four seasons. Japanese people have expressed the nature such as flowers, pine trees, bamboos, animals, water flow, movement of clouds, and snow for the pattern of Kimono or Obi sash, with the gold brocade technique. It has developed our rich culture.

This product “Ryusui” means "flowing water" in Japanese, which represents the eternal prosperity.
It expresses flushing away bad things and the purity that never stagnates, and the combination of flowing water and cherry blossoms also contains the wish that celebrations continue.
It is the auspicious combination pattern, with an elegant and a calm purple color. It will be great as a gift, too.
