Beautiful Kokeshi doll that made my mother very happy :-)
After buying several objects in the shop in Kyoto I bought one more kokeshi doll in the webshop a week later. Be aware that when buying from Europe (Belgium in my case) that before receiving the parcel you will need to pay tax on object AND shipment. Also an extra cost will be added from DHL. Also the price in the shop is lower than in the webshop because of the shipping and handling costs.
There was also a problem with the tax amount asked by DHL, but both DHL and the staff from the handicraft centre helped me out and sorted the matter rather quickly. Be sure to ask for an invoice that clearly has the price of the objects AND the shipping costs separately to avoid extra costs later.
Overall this shop has a lot of beautiful objects and the staff is very friendly and helpful. But because of the higher prices of shipping and taxes it’s much cheaper and way more fun to buy it locally at the handicraft Centre in Kyoto. Unfortunately one cannot always go Kyoto so this webshop is a good alternative. I would definitely advise this shop.
