A stylish lacquered bowl which is impressive with the natural and beautiful grain of Zelkova wood. It can be used not only as a salad bowl but also for a cereal, soup, cookies and sweets.
It is light and can be stacked!
Wooden bowl has warmth retention, and the food does not get cold easily. Even if a warm food is put in it, the outside is not so hot and easy to touch.

It is made by the wood turning technique one by one.
The coating is finished by the technique called “Fuki-Urushi”, which repeats many times by applying the lacquer and wiping off it with a cloth. It brings out the beauty of wood grain as well as gives strength to the product.

Lacquer has supported Japanese life and culture by widely used for its robustness, durability and ease of decoration.
Isuke Shoten Co., Ltd., that was originally a lacquer dealer in Kyoto, produced this “MOKU” series by collaborating with Miyake design.
MOKU means of wood in Japanese.
