It was said that Kokeshi dolls spread as a souvenir in the hot springs of the Tohoku region in the latter half of the Edo period.
Gunma Prefecture is the largest production of "The modern Kokeshi" in Japan.
This product was made in the workshop of "Usaburo Kokeshi" in Gunma Prefecture.
“Jukō” has a design of red and white plum blossoms on a black kimono. Plum blossoms have been loved by Japanese people as a flower which tells arrival of spring. It will make a perfect gift as the flower symbolizes hope.
Kokeshi dolls are vulnerable to light and humidity. Please avoid places exposed to sunlight or high humidity.
There are individual differences because each is handmade.
