Description
Tea was first introduced to Japan from China in the early 8th century.
Ujicha started in the Kamakura period (1185-1336). The Japanese Buddhist priest Myoe from Kozan-ji in Toganoo encouraged people to cultivate Ujicha. In the Muromachi period (1336-1573), the Ashikaga shogunate spread the name of Ujicha around Japan.
Matcha is a fine powdered green tea. No milk. No sugar. They whisked with hot water. Matcha green tea with mellow and thick tastes. If you would like to get a real feel for Japanese culture, we'd like to recommend it. Normally sweets to be eaten before drinking tea.
How to make Matcha tea
① Using a tea scoop, place 2 scoops of Matcha (approx. 1.5 g) in a bowl.
② Add 60 ml of 80 ℃ water and whisk in an "M" pattern for only 15 seconds.
It's recommended that you use a bamboo whisk called a chasen.
