This is a hand-painted lacquered bowl made in Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture which is known for producing Aizu lacquerware. Aizu lacquerware has a history of more than 400 years and was designated as Traditional Crafts of Japan in 1975.
For cleaning, please wash it by hand with warm water and a soft sponge or a cloth. Please avoid soaking it in water for a long time. Dish soap can be used to remove oily stains. Please wipe and dry it well before storing.
