EISEN was born in Tokyo as a child of the lower-class samurai.
When he was 12 years old he studied drawing under Kano Hakkeisai who was a pupil of Kano Michinobu.
One of his principals principal was Eisen lived with Eizan(Kikukawa Eizan) and studied drawing under Eizan.
He also had a relationship with HOKUSAI.
