This item is a Yosegi marquetry diamond shaped jewelry box.
This is a great place to keep your accessories and other favorite things.

Hakone Yosegi Zaiku has been produced in Hakone town of Odawara city in the western Kanagawa prefecture for 200 years.
Making full use of the wealth of wood colours and textures, craftsmen produce the geometric patterns by shaving and merging the wood chips.
Yosegi Zaiku is recommended as a product for daily use.
As each product is handmade, there may be individual differences.

A number of different types of wood are used in the creation of Yosegi.

Jewelry Box

Got this for my husband for his birthday as a dresser top box for his watches. It is beautiful, smooth to the touch, edges all meet, excellent craftsmanship. Also arrived in the US very quickly (less than 2 weeks!) Kyoto Handicraft is an absolute pleasure to work with and I will continue to look for reasons to do business with them.
