Description

The earliest cloisonné work we can see now is the one for the ornament of King Tutankhamen’s crown.
So it has the history for about 2500years.
It was brought to Japan via China and Korea in 600 B.C, and we can find one on the metal part of a door at Houo-do in Byoudo-in, Uji, Kyoto.
In 16th century, cloisonné became prospered in Japan. Afterward, in 19th century, Wagner, a German chemist developed glaze of Japanese cloisonné.
It contributed toward Japanese own cloisonné today.
“SHIPPO” means seven treasures, Japanese word for “CLOISONNE”, come from its beauty to express seven treasures, gold, silver, lapis lazuli, coral, pearl, agate and squilla.
As Red Fuji is one of the scenery of Mount Fuji which is rarely seen, it is said that wishes comes true if you can see it.
According to Feng Shui, putting red object to the east increase the luck.
How to use Shippo craft
*As for the Shippo product, the surface might be damaged by a shock for vitreosity. When it is damaged, please don't use it any longer because it may cause an injury.
*Don't heat the Shippo directly ,pour boiling water into it,or use the microwave oven.
*Don't use pen tray, ornament plate, vase, and interior goods of Shippo as dishes for serving food.
*Use soft sponge with synthetic detergent to wash Shippo crafts. Neither using steel wool or cleanser, or washing it in the dish washer is preferred.
