It was said that Kokeshi dolls spread as a souvenir in the hot springs of the Tohoku region in the latter half of the Edo period.
Gunma Prefecture is the largest production of "The modern Kokeshi" in Japan.
This product was made in the workshop of "Usaburo Kokeshi" in Gunma Prefecture.
“Tsuki ni sakura” has a cherry blossoms design which is painted on a blue kimono. The gradation of blue expresses the moon appearing and disappearing as the clouds flow. The pattern of the obi sash is hand-carved by a skilled craftsman.
Kokeshi dolls are vulnerable to light and humidity. Please avoid places exposed to sunlight or high humidity.
There are individual differences because each is handmade.
